Applied Mathematics—A Journal of Chinese Universities (Appl. Math. J. Chinese Univ.) started its publication in 1986 based on the decision of Academic and Working Conference on Applied Mathematics of directly affiliated universities in China,
sponsored by Zhejiang University.Since 2002 it has become one of the periodicals under China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM), and is sponsored jointly by Zhejiang University and CSIAM. (Chief editors: Li Daqian, Lin Zhengyan)
In advocating the mathematics science to combine and blend with other scientific subjects, expanding its study fields and promoting the development of relevant interdisciplinary subjects, this journal mainly publishes the research results and synthesized introductions obtained by applying the applied mathematics concepts, theories and methods to other subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Science, Energy, Environmentology, Economics, Finance, etc. In addition, the latest developments, today's situation and future tendency of mathematics in combination with other subjects are also reported. Its readers include the college teachers and students, workers in applied mathematics study, and engineers of research institutes and production units.
Applied Mathematics—A Journal of Chinese Universities is one of the key academic publications of natural sciences, a source journal of Chinese scientific and technical papers and citations, also a source issue for the comprehensive evaluation database and the database of scientific citations in China. This journal is collected, reported and reviewed abroad by Mathematical Review (USA), Mathematics Abstracts (Germany), Abstract Journal (Russia), etc.
Applied Mathematics—A Journal of Chinese Universities began to put out English quarterly since 1993 with the approval of State Science and Technology Commission. The English edition abbreviated as Series B (ISSN 1005-1031) has the different contents to Chinese edition (Series A, ISSN 1000-4424), and is distributed publicly just like the Chinese issues at home and abroad. In foreign countries, its distribution agent is China International Book Trading Corporation.
From 1996 on, both Chinese and English versions have been taken into Chinese Academic Journal (CD), collected and reported in full by Chinese Journal Web. Now this publication has numerous subscribers in the key colleges, universities and research institutes all over the country. There are a lot of readers in USA, England, France, Germany, Russia, ,Japan, Holland, India, Singopore, Brazil, etc. and in Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan as well. More and more attention of the international academic circles is being drawn to it.
