Abstract: The circle bundle of a line bundle over a Hermitian symmetric space and the 3-sphere bundle
over quaternionic symmetric spaces have a sub-Riemannian structure and the corresponding
curvature satisfies certain quadratic condition. We introduce a class of H-type fibrations over
symmetric spaces generalizing these sphere bundles and study their sub-Riemannian geometry
including heat kernel, Weyl type estimates for the eigenvalue of the sub-Laplacian.
