The First Time----
Title: Some remarks on friezes
Date: November 22 Mon. 3:00pm--4:00pm
Abstract: Friezes were introduced by Coxeter in the 1970s as special arrays of positive integers satisfying certain internal relations, and they were recently cast in the framework of cluster algebras. In this talk I will discuss some geometric model of friezes. This is joint work with Antoine. St. Germain and Min Huang.
The Second Time----
Title: Cluster algebras of finite type and Bott-Samelson varieties
Date: November 25 Thur. 3:00pm--4:00pm
Abstract: In this talk we discuss how Bott-Samelson varieties can be used to study cluster algebras of finite type with principal coefficients at an acyclic seed. In particular, we construct all the cluster tori in the underlying cluster variety. This is joint work with Antoine St. Germain.
