Summary: We will present Fourier and Fourier analysis from historical point of view There are three other important contributors to the theory: Dirichlet, Riemann and Cantor in the 19th century. We will present their works and some others in the 20th century.
Introduction of speaker: Fan Aihua, Professor at Picardie University and Central China Normal University in France. In 1989, he obtained a doctoral degree in mathematics from the University of South Paris in France and studied under Professor Kahane, a member of the French Academy of Sciences. Its research fields include geometric measure theory, harmonic analysis, probability theory and stochastic process, dynamic system and ergodic theory, p-progression analysis and p-progression arithmetic dynamic system, etc. He has been selected for multiple national talent programs such as National Outstanding Young Scholars (Class B) and has published over 120 academic papers. I have been invited to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong, National Taiwan University, KIAS of the Korean Institute of Advanced Studies, Kyushu University in Japan, Ernst Moritz Arndt University in Germany, Lund University in Sweden, CUNY of City University of New York in the United States, ETH of Zurich Institute of Technology in Switzerland, Warwick University in the United Kingdom, and more.
