Title: The L^2 restriction norm of a GL(n) Maass form

Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss the L^2 restriction norm of a Maass form on GL(n+1) restricted to GL(n). Using the spectral decomposition on GL(n) and the Rankin-Selberg method, we are led naturally to a family of GL(n+1)XGL(n) L-functions. We give sharp upper and lower bounds for the restriction norm under certain assumptions (i.e., the Lindelof hypothesis, the weighted local Weyl law and others). This is joint work with Xiaoqing Li and Matthew Young..
