摘要:It is known that the classical WKB analysis faces the difficulty due to the existence of caustics. In [Commun. Math. Sci., 11(1): 105-140, 2013], I proposed the global geometrical optics method for the scalar high-frequency wave-like equations. The key ingredient in the global geometrical optics method is a moving frame technique in the phase space. Though applicable to the vectorial Schrodinger equations, this technique becomes very complicated. Recently, we developed a new asymptotic theory for the vectorial Schrodinger equations, called extended WKB analysis. In this talk, I will explain the basic idea of this extended WKB asymptotic theory and report some applications.
