摘要: In this talk, we will explain how the theory of amoeba and geometric function theory can be used to study Smale's mean value conjecture and other related problems originated from Smale's work on the efficiency of Newton's method.

个人简介：Professor Tuen Wai Ng is the Head of Department of Mathematics,The University of Hong Kong.He works mainly on One and Several Complex Variables,in particular factorizations of mermorphic functions,complex dynamics,complex differential equations and geometry of polynomials.
