Abstract:  The nonlinear sigma models arises from mathematical physics. On one side it is motivated from super string theory, in particular supersymmetry hypothesis, while on the other hand it performs as a generalization of harmonic map. With the tools from calculus of variations and nonlinear PDEs, we analyze the regularity of weak solutions and the conservation laws resulting from the rich symmetry group.
